It's Always the Holidays in Community Pharmacy!

Posted by Benjamin Coakley on Wed, Jan 29, 2014 @ 08:33 AM

As we just celebrated another holiday season, our team at Waypoint is extremely thankful thatcommunity pharmacy the holidays exist.  They are truly a special time for most people in our country and for us as well. Holidays allow us to refocus on what's truly important to each of us, our faith, family and community (in no particular order).

Over these past holidays, I had the pleasure of watching It's a Wonderful Life for the first time in a long time.  It really helped me put things in the proper perspective and allowed me to reflect on the state of community pharmacy. I realized that in a seemingly exponential negative operating environment, most pharmacies continue to be beacons of light in a sometimes very dark world. Often times this darkness is reflected in people facing life or death situations.  When these people come into your pharmacy, they are scared and often feel helpless.  And you continue to be a calming influence and help alleviate these potential tragedies.  Many of you probably feel like George Bailey (James Stewart's character) that seemingly could never leave Bedford Falls.

What I finally realized is that most community pharmacies (and community pharmacy in general) constantly focus on what is truly important, helping better the lives of the people in communities across America.  So essentially, it is always the holidays in community pharmacy because you are always focused on doing the right thing.

I have challenged all the employees at Waypoint to focus on what is truly important to them and to our company in 2014.  If we can do this, maybe we can also experience the holidays all year round.

Thank you for allowing us to serve community pharmacies, community pharmacy owners, and community pharmacy in general over the past 30 years. We would not be where we are without the help of many of you.  We look forward to making 2014 a great year.

Where does this wisdom come from?

The content of this blog is inspired and verified by our experience helping independent community pharmacists enjoy financial independence inside, outside and after their life in pharmacy.

When a pharmacist reaches out to us for information and help, we endeavor to give them as much free value as is possible. In addition to providing educational, self-assessment and strategic planning tools, we invite qualified pharmacists into our formal discovery process.

The first step of the process is completing The Inspired Goals Workshop. This complimentary 90-minute session enables us to deliver a detailed and personal Inspired Independence Blueprint. The blueprint provides a roadmap for achieving your goals and enables you to fully understand the value of joining The Inspired Independence Program.

If you wish to learn more about any aspect of our work, the free value we offer, or to be considered for The Inspired Goals Workshop, visit our web site at www.waypointus.com or call 843.873.4420 and ask for Ben or Matt Coakley.

At Waypoint Pharmacist Advisors, we take care of you!
